Combat Instructor, Living History & Combat Performer and Historical Crafter

I am a craftsman, living history and combat performer, actor and previously a special effects make-up artist, all of which I try to bring to the Historical Living Company.

I have been involved in living history since I was 10 years old, starting out as a drummer boy in Gettysburg American Civil War Society, to a young gun fighter of various character roles in Martell’s Raiders Wild West Show and The Lonestar Living History Group throughout my early to late teens, to The Black Gate Combat Company and Historical Combat Company throughout my 30’s.

Currently, I am a self-employed leathercrafter specialising in leatherwork based on historical finds, mainly from the Viking period all the way through to modern day bespoke handmade items for everyday use.

I trained as an actor at Newcastle College at which time I also taught myself special effects prosthetic make-up, this led me to work alongside industry veteran effects artist Nigel Booth on several independent projects.

I have appeared in numerous TV shows and films as an actor, background artist, walk on; speaking; roles and as a historical combat performer. Such roles have included a slave in season 2 of The Last Kingdom, a mercenary, and a member of the Swiss Guard in season 2 episode 9 of Ancient Assassin’s: The Pope’s Bodyguard, and a brutish bullying stable hand in Lady Macbeth.

In addition, I have held the reoccurring live action lead role of private military contractor Sargent ‘Northman’ Riggs, guiding new recruits against all odds of a Zombie virus outbreak for No Limits Zombie Experience, from its creation in 2016 to its final performance earlier in 2022.
